Our Story
“The Foundation was born out of a desire to create something really special, to contribute to the community that KOKO is a part of; its environment, young people, and the next generation of artists. I have been deeply moved by the profound impact our initiatives are making, and it’s my privilege to lead our Foundation on this exciting journey“

The KOKO Foundation
Founded in 2022, the KOKO Foundation is a registered UK charity and the philanthropic heart of Camden’s iconic KOKO Theatre.
Our mission is to cultivate greener environments and to spearhead artistic programmes for disadvantaged young people, whilst nurturing the next wave of creative talent.
We are taking direct, positive action through a number of Camden-first, music focused and environmentally charged community projects and partnerships, which provide transformational opportunities for young people.
Already, we have contributed to an estimated 40% of new trees in Camden, established the borough’s first fruit orchards and run immersive music academies with Grammy award-winner Sacha Skarbek and Mercury prize-winner, Femi Koleoso. And we’re just getting started: our focus is on bold, pioneering projects designed to be scalable, with the ambition of expanding our positive reach across London and beyond.
London has an incredible cultural legacy – nowhere more so than Camden. We feel privileged to champion future generations, and foster happier, healthier environments for all.
