In November 2024, the KOKO Foundation launched with a very special fundraising edition of Letters Live.
A historic, magical evening in our history, a star-studded line-up took the stage, bringing letters to life through powerful performances, complimented by musical interludes from Celeste and The Cavemen.
A celebration of Benedict Cumberbatch’s new role as our global ambassador, he was joined onstage by Marisa Abela, Riz Ahmed, Cate Blanchett, Minnie Driver, Idris Elba, Richard Gadd, Ghetts, Damian Lewis, FKA Twigs, Taika Waititi, and our Voice of God Sophie Hunter. An unforgettable closing performance from three-time Grammy Award winner, Wyclef Jean brought to the theatre to their feet – and our artists back onstage to dance alongside him!
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to them all, for their incredible performances and support for the KOKO Foundation, and to Letters Live for a truly special partnership.
Over the last decade, Letters Live has established itself as a powerful and dynamic event, attracting outstanding talents to perform remarkable letters in front of a live audience.
Inspired by Shaun Usher’s international best-selling Letters of Note series and Simon Garfield’s To the Letter, Letters Live is a live celebration of the enduring power of literary correspondence. One of the joys of Letters Live is that one never knows who is going to take to the stage or what letter they are going to bring alive. Past performances have seen letters written by people as varied as David Bowie, Marge Simpson, Mohandas Gandhi, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Charlotte Bronte, and Che Guevara.
A Night at The Theatre was no exception, with incredible letters and music performances delivered by a star-studded line-up, all in aid of the KOKO Foundation.
